Merry Month of May!

There has been no blog post for a few weeks but that doesn’t mean that school hasn’t been a VERY busy place indeed!

Here are some of the actiivities that are keeping us busy.

  • Infants and 1st have been busy learning about eating meals in restaurants and began their visits to the aistear room this week to further their learning through play.

  • 2nd Class are very busy preparing for their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 20th. Wander the corridors and you will hear prayers being said, hymns being sung and see art being created.

  • The Sciath na Scol matches have concluded for this year.  The girls narrowly missed out on a semi-final place. Read all about this year’s matches elsewhere on the blog.
  • We had our Green Flag inspection and passed with flying colours.  Great credit is due to all the Green School’s Committee and especially to Ms. Spillane for leading the campaign over the past two school  years.
  • The final touches were being put to our application for a Discovery Primary Science Award. The children who were not involved in Sciath na Scol were a great help as they prepared powerpoints of some of the science work completed this year.  We await the judge’s decision!
  • Swimming classes began last Monday for classes 1st to 4th
  • Next September’s junior infants have already spent two afternoons in school with Mrs.Clancy.

And finally, the sun  shone most days of May  so farand we can finally play on our grass!  Happy days…..
