Happy Halloween!

We had a great day celebrating Halloween! The children all dressed up in Halloween costumes and we went for a spooky  walk all around Cloughduv! Then we came back to the school and the parents association had arranged lots of treats for us! The hall was decorated and the younger children had a disco!

We hope everyone enjoys a happy and a safe mid term break! Enjoy trick or treat, and see you all on 6th November!

Scientists at work!

Senior Infants and 1st Class have been busy working as scientists with Ms. Clifford this week. They have been investigating whether objects will float or sink when put into water. The children worked cooperatively in groups with each having a specific role. First, they made predictions about what they thought would happen and then following the investigation, they recorded their findings!

Here are some photos of our scientists at work!

Sciath na Scol 2017

Congratulations and well done to our football team who have had a wonderful campaign this year. Following their semi final victory over Vicarstown N.S. yesterday, they have qualified for the final against Aghabullogue to be held in Páirc Úi Rinn on Friday, 10th November 2017. A bus will be organised to bring all the children to support our team. All are welcome on the day! Special thanks to Mr. McElroy and Mr. Verling for their hard work in preparing the team.

Ryecourt Visit 2017

To celebrate Tree Day on Thursday 5th October, all children visited Ryecourt for a nature walk. We saw many different types of tree – Ash, Oak, Beech, Sycamore and of course Horse Chestnut, so we collected plenty of conkers. A very enjoyable morning was had by all!

Here are a few pictures from our outing!

Cross Country Athletics
