School Performances

On Wednesday, 14th December there was a hive of excitement in the
school as we had two Christmas shows for families in the halla. At 1.15pm, Ms. Carey’s Junior &
Senior Infants and Ms. Purcell’s Senior Infants & 1st Class melted the hearts of the audience with
their performances of ”Whoops – A – Daisy Angel’ and ‘Shine Star Shine’.
At the 6.30 pm show, Mr. McElroy’s class performed ‘The Elf Olympics’, Ms. Luttrell’s 4th & 5th
Class delivered ‘Jesus’ Christmas Party’ and the final play of the night was from Mr. O’ Callaghan’s
5th & 6th Class with their performance of ‘The Lost Nativity’ where Mary Poppins, Joseph & his
Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat as well as Shrek made an appearance.
The school choir wound up both shows with a truly wonderful display of their talents under the
guidance of Ms. Linehan. Everyone enjoyed the whole school sing along at the end with the full
audience participation.

Upcycling Competition

The Green Schools Committee held an upcycling Christmas decoration competition. Our Christmas tree was fully decorated using the homemade upcycled decorations. The committee were blown away by the number of entries. There were so many great ideas that it was quite the challenge to choose winners! Congratulations to the winners who got a selection of Green School prizes.

Book Fair

We hosted a Book Fair from December 5th to 9th. The children visited the Fair with their classes to explore to wide range of books in the colourful display cases. It was very festive having a book shop in school in the lead up to Christmas. People came at the beginning and end of the day to purchase books. 60% of sales will go back to the school so that we can buy books for the school.

Thanks for your support. It was greatly appreciated!

Singing in Cork Airport

On Thursday 8th December, our school choir gave a special performance in Cork Airport to welcome home the visitors to Cork.
The children from 3rd-6th had been practicing for weeks with Ms. Linehan and were ready to sing loud & proud when their moment came.
Everyone had great fun as the children gave great festive cheer with their singing Christmas songs.
The Lord Mayor even made an appearance & commented on how beautifully they sounded.
At the end of the performance, the children were each gifted with a selection box, which was a welcome treat!
We look forward to a repeat performance next year.
