School Tour to Star Outdoors

On Thursday, 31st May, 5th and 6th classes went on their school tour to Star Outdoors in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. We left for Kenmare at 08:15 as we had a long journey ahead.

When we arrived we got split into two groups – one group of 5th class and one group of 6th class. We did lots of land based activities like archery, obstacle courses and team activities.

After the land activities, we had food. We had a choice of chicken and chips, burger and chips or sausages and chips.

After our food, we did the water activities. First we had to put on wetsuits. They took ages to put on! Once we had them on, we went to the canoes. There were different challenges to do like standing up on the canoe. After that we went on the banana boat out to the trampoline on the water. We played on the trampoline and jumped into the water.

After the water activities, we went back and had ice cream!

Everyone enjoyed their day!

School Tour to Rumley’s Farm

The  children in Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class and their teachers Ms. Linehan and Mrs. Landers along with Ms. Breen went to Rumley’s Farm on their school tour yesterday.

It was a wonderful day out – the children saw lots of interesting and unusual animals and birds as well as seeing a working farm and having lots of fun activities too.

The children saw parrots, emus, peacocks, owls, shetland ponies, alpacas, sheep, cows and their calves, dogs, wolf dogs, pigs and piglets and many other animals!

They saw  the robot milking machine milking a cow in the milking parlour.

They also got to feed the pigs and piglets some bread.

A tractor and trailer ride around the farm was another highlight! They also enjoyed playing in the two playgrounds and in the indoor play area, as well as having a go on the zip wire, driving the go-karts and playing mini golf!

The day was rounded off with a cool ice cream in the sunshine!
